PORTUGUESE UNIVERSITY THEATRE - POETICS OF RESISTENCE

This Conference-Performance by and with Ricardo Correia premiered on March 1, 2024, at the Universcènes Festival of the University of Toulouse.

For 45 minutes, key moments in Portuguese University Theatre and its relationship with the historical and political context will be discussed across three periods: during the Estado Novo regime, its reconfiguration in full Democracy after April 25, 1974, and in the 21st century; and the question will be raised as to what was and what remains today of the poetics and resistance in contemporary university theatre.
