The École Internationale de Théâtre Jacques Lecoq was founded in 1956 to train professionals in its unique pedagogy. Based on movement, Jacques Lecoq's pedagogy proposes a learning process centered on the idea that the body is the actor's main instrument.
The School's objective is to contribute to a creative, youthful, and constantly evolving theatre, embodying languages in which the physical play of the performer is central. The act of creation is constantly encouraged, primarily through improvisation, which precedes any written work.
Over more than six decades, the École Jacques Lecoq has trained countless artists who have excelled in theatre, film, and other forms of artistic expression. The School continues to influence contemporary theatrical practice and is internationally recognized as a center of excellence in the training of actors and creators.
